Do you like to doodle? Have you heard of Zentangle?
My first Zentangle
This art form is actually meditation. The repetition of patterns is supposed to help you go into a calming, destress zone.
No eraser allowed here. Just like with life, if you screw up you learn to incorporate those little mistakes into something meaningful.
There aren't many rules here either. Wanna draw something upside down? Go for it. Wanna add in a flower or maybe a bird? Go for it. Wanna do an endless swirl mimicking Suessville? Do it!!!
Here's a cute video on this interesting artform. Give it a try!
Your zentangle is great! I have always loved to doodle.I see an etched piece out of art.
ReplyDeleteSo Cool! I love this - I am going to try one right now!! Thanks for sharing yours too!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great idea! I think I'll have to give this a try!
ReplyDeleteThat is NOT doodling...that's true artwork! I love it! I don't doodle, I guess I'm to fidgety.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I've gotta try that!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Zentangles were meant as meditation. I have avoided them like the plague!
ReplyDeleteI just figured out my Google Reader and have you as a favorite. It has been confusing as my daughter and I share a blog. we primarily do repurposed jewelry. We would love to have you visit our blog which is not just about our jewelry but about our other loves. She loves vintage fashion and I love papercrafts. We both adore estate sales and garage sales. Now to visit your site again!

Your first Zentangle is so much better than my first one! I was soooo sticking to the rules and not going outside the pattern! Interestingly, my seven-year old liked it, and we do them with big sheets of paper and crayons.
ReplyDeleteWow, I've done that all my life, never knew it had a fancy name. Even my daughters do that. I have a huge one my youngest did in 7th grade and it's wonderful.
